...if the brand is now FSC?

Nat Sherman is the brand I'm thinking of. This brand is an all-natural brand, or at least I thought they were all-natural cigs. Now they're fire-safe cigs (FSCs). I wouldn't recommend a new smoker to try FSCs out, regardless of the brand's name. FSCs will make that person hate smoking a lot, and we don't need prospective new smokers with negative attitudes like that.

I only recently realized that Nat Sherman cigarettes were FSC.

I have never had any problems with them, even after learning this. So FSC cigarettes must not be all that bad. They don't do anything to the actual tobacco blend. They just add special strips of paper to the inside of the cigarette that retard the burning action when the cigarette reaches that point. If you tear one of the cigarettes open, you can see them.

The Blacks that I buy are also FSC, and I have never had any problems with those, either.

The Nat Sherman Classic lights that I'm getting aren't FSC yet. The place I buy from don't have FSC products yet thankfully. The Pall Mall light 100s I was getting from the gas station changed. They WERE NASTY and I quit those. The Basic light 100s changed too. I'm smoking 305s that are still good and TR lights that I got from smokinfree that are still non-fsc too.

If every single person in the US smoked cloves instead of tobacco, and smoked 1-2 normal cigs per day, I'd believe it on MOST smokers not having a problem with FSCs then.

A person who recently started smoking period won't see a difference with FSCs either (and I do mean start smoking with real cigs). But a smoker who has smoked for several years can notice the negative difference with FSCs. And the reality is most smokers nationwide hate FSCs.

I'll smoke non-FSC Nat Shermans. But I'm not smoking the FSC ones....and I don't care how good they supposedly taste as FSCs.

Here's a Q: Did the cherry ends fall off of those FSC Nat Shermans as you smoke em, forcing you to relight the cig?

BTW, I hope ALL smokers on this forum realize FSC cigs do not have real tobacco in them. They have tobacco STEMS in them. But most of it is of course chemicals and new ones added to make it FSC.

If you open up a FSC cig and open up a non-FSC cig from Natives, you'll see a huge difference on what's inside of the cigs. I've seen more actual tobacco in a non-FSC not made by Big Tobacco.

I bet even if you open up a non-FSC Nat Sherman, you will still see a difference on what's inside of it (compared to FSC Nat Shermans) aside from the paper.

If you just heard of FSCs thanks to the thread I started on here, I suggest doing Google research on the topic, including reading the repeal FSCs online petition.

It's usually antis who claim "The cig hasn't changed in itself as FSC. it's only the paper that changed." And that's a lie not just to me, but the smokers online who said they hate the gross taste of FSCs and the fact the cherries fall off at any given time as they smoke the FSCs, they would agree it's a lie too.

It's not just the paper that changed in a fire START cig. It's the actual ingredients inside of that cig that has changed as well.

I heard of Coalition for FSCs. And I read their blog a few times. Their blog has a lot of negative comments from smokers who actually smoked the FSCs.

The FSC cigs are definitely far different tasting than normal non-fsc. Anybody that says otherwise don't know what they talking about. Haven't heard from a real smoker yet that doesn't hate the taste of them and isn't looking for other brands now because of the horrible taste. And the effects of the FSCs seem to be much worse than with non-fsc. Somebody that claims they only smoke one or two clove cigs a day ain't a real smoker and wouldn't know the difference between fsc and non-fsc other than the letters stamped on the pack and the rings inside the paper. You got to have a smoking habit to tell the difference tastewise. I've read a lot of posts now from ANTI smokers claiming there is no difference. They have a right to their opinion but they are wrong and they need to go find somebody else to pick on.

Lemme see if I can name the common effects of smoking FSCs from my memory of reading sites online dealing with this topic.

If you smoke FSCs, you'll get more illnesses, sore throats, constant coughing, headaches, and develop bronchitis.

Some smokers mentioned they (as a result from smoking FSCs) vomited a lot, got shortness of breath, got nausea, and nonsmokers even mentioned they got headaches from inhaling "2nd hand FSC smoke." (These are like nonsmoking hubbies who have wives who smoke, and they're obviously around smokers of FSCs a lot).

A lotta smokers said things like "I smoked for 40-50 years, and I never felt this sick before in my life once I smoked these FSCs! I never even burnt a piece of my furniture/clothes from smoking FSCs!"

Of course, the latter is in reference to the lit ends (the cherries) falling off of FSCs at any given time while the person smokes.

I think FSCs are the govt's way to make smokers die faster, particularly elderly smokers.

I dunno if I believe the conspiracy theory on the govt trying to save Social Security money by "making" smokers die sooner by inhaling more chemicals that are proven to be dangerous.

I think it's the tobacco company's way of making a cheaper product for more profit and the govt. helping them out for a cut of the action. I don't smoke FSC because where I live it's not mandatory, thank heavens. If ever they start becoming that way across the board, I'm making my own cigs./buying them from elsewhere.

I heard online all brands made by Big Tobacco will be FSCs by 2010. Meaning that even if your state has no FSC law by next year, they're still gonna sell FSCs.

Philip Morris is one company that didn't see the point of making "non-FSC cartons" for states without the law. So they decided to make all of their brands FSC for all 50 states.

My girlfriend just showed me a pack of Basic lights 100s (Philip Morris) that has a tiny pamplet stuck to it that says: "If you decide to quit smoking". The thing is stuck to the pack with so much glue though that it wont come off sos we can't read what it says on the inside. Anybody else seen this yet?
