In the 90s, the most popular cig brand to me was Marlboro Lights at college (as well as in HS...although at my HS, Newport was more popular than Marlboros). But around 2001, when I was close to graduation, I started to notice more college smokers with Camel Lights. I wonder what makes this brand so popular among young smokers. I tried Camels once in 1999, and I think even Marlboro Reds/Marb Lights both taste betta than Camel Lights and Camel Wides. Camel is one cig brand I'll NEVA smoke again. I wasn't playing when I said in my review for Camel Lights the Camel Lights made me wanna puke. I guess Camel Lights are more popular for young smokers who ain't urban cause you got these "Buy 1 get one free pack" deals with the Camel brand? I think Marlboro brands have that "Buy so-and-so, get one free pack" deals too.

I'm 56 yrs old but, I hang with a younger crowd because I'm a musician and I like the newage music alot. I get invited to these snazzy dinner parties with a group that are elitist and in their mid-twenties. Amazingly, they all have good, hot jobs making six figures most of them. They only smoke out on the patio and never in the house (even though both of the owners at this one home are smokers). Anyways, the parties are great and when smoking habits kick in out on the patio, there is always a couple of packs of Camel brands there. Mostly Camel lights and some Camel "Crush" and Camel light menthols. Sometimes I see Camel FF. They often have "Smokin' Joes" products there, Rothmans and American Spirit. Mostly Camel brands though.

I really enjoy Camel Lights, specifically the Wides. I'm glad they changed to the New Blend, because I couldn't stand the Old Blend unless they were unfiltered. And as a young, trashy person, they are actually more popular in my state with the 30 and older crowd than the younger one aand are now $2.50 off 2 packs instead of BOGO now. Oh, and if anyone knows I could find out where they have the Cig-Promos it would be greatly appreciated. I'd kill to get my hands on a pack of Rothmans!

I'm in college and I have never seen one person, I kid you not, not one person, with a pack of Camel lights, and I can genuinely say, the majority of youngans smoke Marlboro lights, Newports, and some smoke Camel crush. But I guess every state is different.

I'm a heavy smoker and I adore Camel Lights. We smoke a lot, I mean my wife and me and I would like to get some Camel cigs online as it's much cheaper. But there are so many sites providing cigarettes online that I don't know can I trust them or not. Has anybody here ordered online and is it safe?? Thanks in advance

I'm puzzled as to why I should smoke a "light" cigarette. From what I have observed and read, people who smoke "light" cigarettes smoke more cigs daily. If you are gonna smoke, smoke a full flavored one.

That depends, from what I've seen people that switch from full flavor to lights usually smoke more, at least for the first couple of weeks yet I know people that bounce back and forth to different cigarette strengths yet always smoke the same amount. As for your last paragraph, well that is subjective. Some prefer strength others flavor and so on. I've been mostly a full flavor guy for ten years but I still think old Kent Blue and Winston Lights (Euro versions) are among my favorite all time cigarettes. As far as Camel Lights/Blue are concerned I think it is an OK cigarette. I think that it burns to quick and after a third smoked cigarette it tends to lose its flavor in the mouth. If I had to choose between them and Marlboro Lights, I would have probably picked Camel simply because it doesn't leave a almost chemical aftertaste like ML. |
