This petition has a lot to do with smokers rights. Since a lotta smokers think Big Tobacco turning their brands to FSCs without the smokers voicing their opinions first (before the FSCs were released to the public) is a violation of a smoker's American rights.

The smokers I read comments from DO have a point on "I have the right to choose if I wanna buy normal Marlboros, or FSC Marlboros! How come we can't have this choice as Americans? BRING THE NORMAL CIGS BACK!!"
