Actully why this is done, is back in the World war 2 era wile the soldiers where away on duty they would have a pack of smokes with them. When they opened their pack of smokes they would flip one up side down. It was known as a "lucky smoke," because if they made it to smoke that one, they were lucky. It was a refectory moment, to look back on the past and to feel relief that they were still alive.
Now a days thought this is where it was originated from it's lost its meaning like it did, most reason people flip their smoke is more of ritual, and its the "forbidden" smoke an idolized article that only the owner of the pack may smoke. |
