My first smoke was probably a generic menthol that I stole from my dad although the brand escapes me. I will assume it was something available at costco around 2000. I remember the first pack I ever bought was for a broke friend who found out I was going to the store and begged me to pick him up some smokes. So I went into the store and asked for some cheap smokes and what they gave me was a brand called 61. I believe it said that they were from the phillipines on the package although I could be wrong. I just remember they were unfiltered and tasted terrible. I gave them to the friend as I gave him a ride home after work he smoked one and said they were awful and handed me the pack back. Then I put them in my 1974 plymouth dusters glovebox where they sat for 7 years. I recently sold the car and when I was cleaning it out I found them still there and oddly still smelling of tobacco. I didn't have the courage to light one up and go down memory lane though. I wish I had in a way but you live and learn.  |
