I've smoked Camel Wide & Wide Lights since they were introduced decades ago. Smooth taste although they're getting nearly too expensive for me to afford on Soc Sec Disability these days.

I love smoking this type of cigarette. When I do I smoke about the first half of it without the crush, upon crushing I get hit with a pleasant menthol flavor which makes me get more of a longer lasting rush.

The new CTGs, in garish plain yellow packaging, are inferior to the Classic CTGs. The new CTGs are not as smooth or tasty, made with cheaper tobacco blend. Camel is promoting this new version with $$, getting prominent shelf placement in an effort to "reinvigorate" sales of the Turkish product line, by repositioning it as a cheaper product at a lower price point. However CAMEL IS STILL MANUFACTURING THE CLASSIC CTGs. In fact, technically, the two items are not even the same product. The yellow pack is named "Camel Turkish Blend (Royal/Gold/Silver);" the Classics are named "Camel Turkish (Royal/Gold/Silver)." The new yellow pack says nothing about "a special blend of these rare Turkish tobaccos," as does the back of the Classic CTG packaging. The subtle implication of all this being that the yellow smokes have other tobaccos blended-in ... other than Turkish. They even have two different UPCs/barcodings. And, again, the yellows are priced lower than Classic CTGs. You can still find the Classic CTGs at most stores that carry larger lines of stock; you may have to ask the clerk to look for them.

Fantastic cigarette. Smooth and flavorful, with a hint of nuttiness. Im usually a menthol smoker, but when im in the mood for a non menthol, this is my go to. The thickness allows it to burn nice and slow, which is asthetically pleasing. Price is good. Try them.

As pretty much everyone here says, these are premium smokes. Upon opening a fresh pack, you get a nutty, chocolate like aroma, not unlike lucky strikes but a bit milder if you ask me. Taste is fantastic, especially the exhale where i notice a delicious flavor almost like fresh hay warmed by the sun. Here in Connecticut they will run you almost 11 bucks per pack, which is obviously a major turn off. That being said, everything else about these is heavenly. I see some folks say that they burn too quickly, but that has never been a problem for me. Perhaps i just savor them or something.

Comments:

I have smoked camels for years. I smoked lights for years and swapped to Turkish Silvers for at least 8 years I believe. They remind me of coffee which I often don't have time to make. They recently changed the packaging and they seem weaker than before. I've been smoking more or maybe it is in my head. I was excited about the price decrease because they are more expensive than most any other brand. I asked for the old packaging today and I really feel they are stronger than the new silver. Pall Mall is t he only other brand that has a Turkish choice that I have found and can substitute in a desperate situation but Camels are just better flavored and always fresh.
